Annual report Spletno oko 2007-2008

Final Spletno oko project report for the period from March 2007 to September 2008 is now available.

In this period 825 reports of allegedly illegal content on the Internet have been received on www.spletno-oko.si. 358 of all received reports has been categorized as allegedly child abuse images, 333 reports were related to allegedly hate speech while 134 reports referred to other allegedly illegal content. From all 825 received reports there were 232 reports handed over to the Police.

Comparison between the years 2007 and 2008 shows 97% increase in number of received reports related to allegedly child abuse images and 150% increase in number of allegedly illegal contents handed over to the Police.

However, the decrease of allegedly hate speech reports has been noticed between years 2007 and 2008. While in 2007 there were averagely 20 reports per month, there were approximately 17 reports related to allegedly hate speech per month in 2008.
